WE DESERVED MORE

These were the words that came out of Chelsea Manger Antonio Conte’s mouth during the post- match conference. It clearly signifies the frustration after playing Football to the Optimum best. The match ended in favour of our Opponents Crystal Palace 1-2 leading to the sad demise of our Club Record of 13 Consecutive Home Games Victories since September ’16.

The Win was a Shocker for Crystal Palace Manager Sam Allardyce as expressed by him in the Post-Match Conference. It was a much needed boost for them in their ongoing battle of Relegation and Marked their 4th Consecutive Victory in the Premier League.

Chelsea yesterday played with a slightly altered formation of 3-4-2-1 due to Injury to Victor Moses.Pedro started as a Right Wing-Back and the Forward 3 were Fabregas,Hazard and Costa.1491064943222

The London Derby started with a Chelsea Kick-off taken by Diego Costa.Within Minutes we concerned a Corner Kick but it was cleared away with little difficulty. It only took 5 minutes for Chelsea to open the scoring.Fabregas gave an amazing long pass to Hazard, who with his amazing skills was literally playing with the defenders near the penalty box looking for an opening. As soon as he saw Fabregas he gave a Sublime pass which saw the ball going into the net in no time. All Chelsea fans were leaping with joy as they thought the match was now won and another 3 points were in the bag.

An easy goal by Fabregas from close range.

But the celebrations were cut short as Wilfried Zaha score a beauty with a low shot past 3 Chelsea Defenders. The Defenders lost their concentration at that point of time and everyone knew that they had to stay focussed if they were going to win it.Two minutes later Disaster struck Stamford Bridge as a brilliant one-two by Zaha and Christian Benteke saw Crystal Palace Leading the game 2-1.

Chelsea had no answer to this Strike by Christian Benteke

Crystal palace fans were celebrating and they became joyous as they were on the verge of their 4th successive win.The match was now in the hands of Crystal Palace and Chelsea couldn’t afford any more slip ups.Chelsea continued attacking brilliantly only to be halted by Crystal Palace Goalkeeper Wayne Hennessey who stood like a wall blocking each and every shot. The most horrifying moment of the match came when Chelsea were desperately in need for a Goal.Pedro, while inside the Penalty box, took a shot at Goal which was blocked by the Arm of Andros Townsend.Everyone started appealing for a handball but it wasn’t even considered by Match Referee Craig Pawson. That was a game changing moment as the tables were already turned over Chelsea.Had the Referee given a Penalty we would have probably won’t the match.Chelsea continued with their brilliant Attack only to be denied by Hennessey. He stood like a wall denying each and every opportunity.Ultimately it was he who made the difference between the two teams.3ed6950c00000578-4371048-image-a-32_1491058608179

There were many openings in the match including some brilliant work by Pedro and Hazard on the right which was then shot by Diego Costa from point blank range only to be stopped by Hennessey. There were many more chances but none were closer to a goal than a Diego Costa Header which missed the net by a whisker. The Crystal Palace defence was held tight by Mamoudou Sákho and Andros Townsend as they were there each and every moment to deny Chelsea the Goals they were looking for.Crystal Palace Defender Scott Dann who was also instrumental in holding the defence was stretched off after a shot from Diego Costa twisted his Knee. The injury was looking very severe and it may also lead to him being ruled out for the rest of the season.3ed78d9a00000578-4371048-crystal_palace_were_dealt_a_big_blow_on_the_hour_mark_as_scott_d-a-4_1491080855965

Chelsea were the favourites to win the match but clearly luck wasn’t on their side and some mishaps proved to be very costly. Tottenham’s win has caused our lead to reduce to 7 points.3ed80d7d00000578-4371048-image-a-68_1491063834194

We were definitely the favourites to win the match and truly we deserved more.
